Case Study - Heyrod Projects
Client: Heyrod Projects March 2008
Project: Multiple tasks for one of the countries leading supermarket chains
Brief:
- Management of the site
- Replace old bollards and make good
- Adjust kerb radius and reinstate
- Replace signage
- Install new steel poles for signage
- Replace plastic roofing in trolley bays
- Install new barrier strips in all trolley bays
Result:
Work was completed within 9 working days, Morholt quickly realised that the prime concerns on this project were the health and safety implications and inconvenience for staff and customers.
The work involved close collaboration with the store manager and staff at all times, the work area was protected by Harris fencing and had to be managed to ensure the work was carried out with the minimum of disruption to the busy store entrance but also completed quickly and to a high standard with the added problem of having to tear down the site every night and allow for peak opening times of the store. Noise and spoil had to be managed and a strict programme of works was established in consultation with the store manager.
"Morholt quickly took ownership of the project and managed the site addressing all the health and safety and site specific issues. Bearing in mind this was the main entrance for a large retail outlet that needed to be kept open every day including peak times, there wasn't a single complaint from either staff members or customers during the works which were both noisy and messy. The reason I use Morholt is that I always know that I can trust the work to be completed to a high standard, the health and safety element of the works is always excellent and I am constantly kept informed of developments on site on a daily basis, more regularly if any issues arise."
